Opera but not as you know it...

NOISE is an exciting new performance company run by co-artistic directors James Robert Carson and Arlene Rolph. NOISE, based in Glasgow, is committed to the promotion of opera as an innovative and dynamic art form. The artistic vision of the company is to develop new audiences for opera and breakdown any perceived barriers to the art form by commissioning and promoting largely Scottish based writers, composers and performance artists to create portable products that can tour nationally and internationally to novel performance spaces. We aim to continue to inspire existing opera audiences and generate new ones by developing work within communities, creating interactive educational projects and immersing audiences in unique performance experiences.

We will be launching the company with the premiere of Gareth Williams’ exciting new opera “The Sloans Project” as part of the Merchant City Festival with a run of performances beginning on Wednesday 20th July until Sunday 24th July 2011.
